The 2007 Acadia is GMC’s first crossover SUV that combines car-like handling with the capability of an SUV. With three rows of seating for up to eight passengers, the Acadia has front-wheel drive, but all-wheel drive is also available. Crossovers feature car-type construction and mechanical components instead of truck parts used in traditional SUVs.
The Acadia uses independent suspension in the front and rear, which makes for easy ride and handling.

The 2007 GMC Acadia is powered by a 3.6-liter, 275-hp, V6 with variable valve timing producing 251 lb-ft of torque. It is teamed with a Hydra-Matic 6T75 six-speed automatic transmission. The Acadia is rated with an estimated fuel economy of 18/26(city/highway) with FWD and 17/24 mpg (city/highway) with AWD. Towing capacity is up to 4,500 pounds. Acadia comes in three trim levels, the SLE, SLT1 and SLT2, each available in front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive.

The Acadia’s profile is sleek and aerodynamic, without looking too bulky. The roofline is sporty and tapered. Polished aluminum roof rails, large prominent headlights, unique LED taillights and a rear spoiler reinforce the vehicle’s sporty appearance. The interiors of the cabin feature a handsome and upscale look. The instrument panel has premium quality materials; a “Smart Slide” second-row feature allows access to third row seating. Standard equipment on the SLE includes 18-inch wheels, air conditioning; tilt and telescope steering wheel; heated, outside mirrors; power windows and door locks; OnStar; four-way, adjustable driver's seat; AM/FM/compact disc player; cruise control and a rear window wiper.

Standard safety features includes six standard airbags, power-assisted rack-and-pinion steering, four-wheel disc brakes with ABS, StabiliTrak (stability control system), traction control (FWD only) and a tire-pressure-monitoring system.
